‘Real Housewives of Durban’: Fans start to like Annie as Sorisha drops a ‘voetsek’

Once hated by Real Housewives of Durban viewers, Annie seems to be emerging as the new fan-favourite this season.

This week’s hotly anticipated episode of The Real Housewives of Durban with the ladies heading to Slee’s trip, not knowing that she was the host of their stay in Knysna.

‘The hit, run and cry’

The women made their way to Knysna in cars, in groups of three, and each car discussed Jojo’s bad behaviour and her refusal to apologise. Two episodes prior, Jojo stormed off leaving guests at a dinner on a trip where she was the host and decided to head home without informing her guests that she was leaving.

Maria said that Jojo needed to apologise for this after informing Maria that Jojo deflected in last week’s episode when confronted about her behaviour at Sorisha’s event.

Annie, Sorisha and Maria concluded that it was a struggle getting Jojo to account for her behaviour because she was fond of running away from conversations about her behaviour, and Sorisha quipped that she called the tactic the “hit, run and cry”.

Complaints on arrival

Jojo was the first and only Real Housewives of Durban star to complain upon arriving in Knysna stating that there was no gift or welcome note waiting for her in her room.

She then called her husband to complain about the fact that she still had no idea who the trip’s host was.

Monkeys at Monkeyland

The trip’s first outing was a trip to Monkeyland which Slee said she chose because the Real Housewives of Durban cast had been behaving like monkies.

The cast didn’t seem too happy about the outing as they came face to face with some unruly monkies before having to traverse a suspension bridge.

They then made their way back to the hotel for some downtime where Annie and Sorisha bonded of the changed behaviour of their super-busy husbands, Kgolo and Vivian.

Slee confronts Nonku

At Slee’s lunch, Nonku arrived first and Slee took their time alone as a chance to confront Nonku about the mean things she had been saying about her and her financial situation behind her back.

Nonku refused to take accountability for what she said about Slee, choosing to hide behind religion instead.

Ruan and Jojo then joined them at lunch where Nonku brought the pair up to speed before Jojo came to Nonku’s defence, calling Sane (the source of the rumour) a compulsive liar.

In her Real Housewives of Durban dairy session, Nonku admitted to saying those things, further accusing Slee of “trying to be something that she is not”.

The other ladies slowly trickled into lunch where Slee claimed ownership of the trip, explaining her intentions for not only planning the trip but using Sorisha to send out her invitations.

She then took a light-hearted jab at Jojo, promising not to walk out on her guests.

‘Voetsek!’

Slee later asked her guests to at least try to interact with each other instead of ignoring each other the way they had been.

Mbali then took the floor, confronting Nonku about her “Mabusi vibes” comment before threatening to beat Nonku up. Jojo was then asked about being in contact with Sane, which she denied, not knowing that the group had evidence of her saying nasty things about the other women to Sane via text message.

Jojo, Nonku and Ruan then got up to leave and in an uncharacteristic move, Sorisha told them to voetsek (loosely translated to ‘piss off’).

The camera later cut to Jojo crying as she was comforted by Nonku and Ruan while elsewhere, the ladies went through Sane’s texts from Jojo where she called the other Real Housewives of Durban women “mean girls”.

Annie and Jojo come face to face

The next day, Annie made her way to Jojo’s room to confront her about the way Jojo makes her feel. She told her that she feels betrayed by her, starting with Jojo’s accusations that Annie called her a drunk and alcoholic.

Jojo and Annie then argued over semantics where Jojo insisted on playing the victim.

The pair then spent minutes going back and forth, each accusing the other of being the villain.

Annie immediately called Sorisha to vent before declaring that she was done with Annie.
