The buildup to Trevor Noah’s upcoming debut as host of the The Daily Show has been given a 30-second promo trailer.

The dazzling trailer announces the arrival of a “different ass” to occupy Jon Stewart’s seat, which raises all kinds of high expectations, but it seems Noah has been ready since the announcement in March that a relatively unknown comedian from South Africa would be replacing Stewart.

Noah is set to officially take over on September 28 on Comedy Central.

Noah also made Vogue’s illustrious September issue for a lengthy feature, in which they highlight that his internationalism is seen as an asset at Comedy Central and makes him an appropriate choice to complement the internationalist bent Stewart brought to the show.

Michele Ganeless, Comedy Central president, says Noah brings a really wide perspective necessary for a show they hope will be multiplatform, a little more contemporary and a little more reflective of the news as it arrives.
