UPDATE – Officer succumbs to injuries after shooting in Ermelo

According to Theo Craven of the South African Community Crime Watch, Havenga Road has been closed off as law enforcement conducts an investigation.

Captain Carla Prinsloo, spokesperson for Ermelo police confirmed the officer who was shot has succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

While the newspaper is aware of the man’s identity, it is currently being withheld out of respect for his family until next of kin have been notified.

According to new information obtained from the Provincial Ambulance Services, the man who was shot is a SAPS officer.


Man left in critical condition after shooting in Ermelo

A man was critically injured following a shooting incident in Havenga Road.

According to preliminary details, the man was rushed to Ermelo Medi Clinic by Life Care Response, with his condition described as critical.

Theo Craven of the South African Community Crime Watch also informed residents that the road has been cordoned off for a police investigation.

Local SAPS, ACSU Security, and ambulances are en route to the scene..
