Rockstar to ‘pay off’ unhappy Grand Theft Auto V players

Rockstar Games is planning to 'pay-off' players of its popular Grand Theft Auto online game after a launch marred by numerous technical glitches.

The special stimulus package will come in the form of in-game cash. A whole lot of it. Half-a-million we’re-sorry-munnies for those people who have been affected by the somewhat disastrous launch of the multi-player component of GTA V, GTA Online.

In order to not completely unbalance the game’s economy, the cash will be divvied out in two payments of 250,000 GTA$ each starting next week.

“For players who experienced cloud server errors, connection issues, and lost game progress and characters in these first days of GTA Online, we hope this GTA$ helps to facilitate a fresh start or makes your continued life in Los Santos and Blaine County extra sweet,” Rockstar said on it’s official blog.

There are of course a few conditions. For one, you
  • must play or have played GTA Online at any time during the month of October. Players

will also first have to install a forthcoming GTAV title update which we expect to happen next week.
