AKA to launch his own channel

#AKATV will be available on IOS and Android app stores from Friday, 8 May 2020 for a monthly subscription of R49.

From Friday, 8 May fans will be granted exclusive access to music previews, behind-the-scenes footage, performance showcases and specialist shows and documentaries hosted by rapper AKA when #AKATV goes live.

Described as a centralised hub of AKA produced content; #AKATV has been hailed as “the dawn of a new era” and “a ground-breaking move” by the rapper and his team.

“In a time where artists are far removed from their followers whom they would engage with on the road through a live show format, AKA is bridging the gap and strengthening the connectivity he has with music lovers through digitally curated content with them in mind,” said AKA’s team in a statement.

The rapper, real name is Kiernan Forbes, will give a ‘State of the Megacy’ address on Wednesday evening to give fans more details on what to expect when #AKATV launches.

“The launch of #AKATV is testament to Kiernan’s progressiveness and forward-thinking as a musician and businessman. This is something he has wanted to do for a long time and we’re proud to see this initiative come to fruition,” said Vth Season’s Raphael Benza in a statement.

Vth Season is a music and creative entertainment agency responsible for the likes of AKA, Ami Faku and Tresor to name a few.
