FTLM achieves first unqualified audit opinion
This is the first attainment since the merger of Greater Tubatse Municipality (GTM) and Fetakgomo Municipality (FM) in 2016.
BURGERSFORT – The Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality (FTLM) has achieved an unqualified audit opinion for the 2020/21 financial year.
This is the first attainment since the merger of Greater Tubatse Municipality (GTM) and Fetakgomo Municipality (FM) in 2016.
The award was handed over to FTLM’s mayor Eddie Maila during the South African Local Government Association’s awards at Warmbaths, A Forever Resort, in Bela Bela on Thursday.

On Monday August 8, Maila met FTLM staff members to officially present the accolade.
He thanked all of them for the achievement and further encouraged them to work towards a clean audit opinion and 100% spending on all conditional grants.
“The main objective is to attain a clean audit opinion and with the support and co-operation among all stakeholders, it is possible to do so.
“I would like to thank the administration, councillors, social partners and the community for steering the institution to achieve the unqualified audit opinion.”
Meanwhile, the Limpopo MEC for co-operative governance, human settlements and traditional affairs, Basikopo Makamu, said Limpopo municipalities are not doing well on financial reporting and management.
“I wish to congratulate all the municipalities that received awards and plead with them to learn from Waterberg District Municipality for attaining clean audit outcomes.”
