TS Galaxy looking for redemption at Mbombela Stadium

After their five-match unbeaten streak at home came to an end courtesy of Chippa United, TS Galaxy will be looking ahead to their clash with Stellenbosch on Sunday April 21 to get into gear again.

TS Galaxy’s run of five unbeaten games at Mbombela Stadium was ended by Chippa United in the Nedbank Cup quarter-final, but they will be hoping to reignite their form against Stellenbosch this weekend.

The Rockets had been in some seriously good form in the run-up to their Nedbank Cup quarter-final clash, with eight wins, one draw and one loss in their preceding 10 games. This included a run of five consecutive wins at Mbombela Stadium.

But this came to a devastating end at the worst possible time when they lost 2-0 to Chippa United. They now have the tough task of trying to bounce back against Stellenbosch, who managed to qualify for the Nedbank Cup semi-finals where they will take on Mamelodi Sundowns.

The men from the Western Cape are also currently second in the DStv Premiership, and themselves have been in incredible form. They are unbeaten in their last 11 games, with six wins and five draws.

It will largely be a case of an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object, as TS Galaxy hold the second-best record at home in the DStv Premiership, and Stellenbosch have the second-best record away from home in the league this season.

Not only will The Rockets be trying to rekindle their good form, they are in the hunt for a top four spot for the first time ever. Currently in sixth place, TS Galaxy are two points off Sekhukhune United in fourth, with two games in hand on both Sekhukhune and SuperSport United who lie fifth, one point ahead of TS Galaxy.

The clash on Sunday April 21 at Mbombela Stadium will kick off at 17:30.
