Stars meet their match in a very tough encounter

MASHISHING – When Leroro Stars met their opponents over the weekend, they probably didn’t expect the youngsters of this area to give them such an uphill battle on the soccer field.

Mashishing United once again proved why they were the unbeatable team in the Castle Regional League, when they celebrated their victory of 4-0 over Stars.

With three players aged only 16, they managed to win five games and draw only one, and are currently second on the log with 30 points. Their manager, Mr John Mtinkhulu said, “I am extremely proud of the boys.”

It was their first match with a brand-new kit sponsored by Midas and it was clear that the players did not want to disappoint. “We are grateful for Midas’ contribution and as a team we will do our best to do them proud,” said Mtinkhulu. He also expressed his gratitude towards all the people who came out to support the local team. The League will end on March 23.
