Toys galore to brighten up a child’s life
The Lowveld motor biking community was out in force this past weekend to support the 14th annual Lowveld Toy Run.

A mass of bikers from the many provincial clubs made their way to the premises of Harley Davidson where they handed over hundreds of toys. These toys will be distributed to underprivileged children over the festive season.
The Toy Run was started by the Italian Motorcycle Owners’ Club (IMOC) in 1982 and is now the largest motorcycling-related charity event in Southern Africa and arguably the world. The Toy Run is held in over nineteen centers in the Southern African region every year on the last weekend in November.
All donations and the toys collected are given to the Round Table who distributes them children at orphanages, shelters and hospitals. Bernadette Woodford, Chairman of the Lowveld Toy Run 2014, said over 250 motorbike enthusiasts participated in this year’s event. AJ Dreyer and Kobie Fourie won the coverted trophy for Best Decorated Motor Bike.
