Lara Gear rocks the Jock
Pubgoers' eyes were fixed on this local star last Saturday. Lara Gear and her band entertained many Lowvelders during their rock-filled performance.
MBOMBELA – Lara Gear and her band seriously rocked Jock Pub & Grill on Saturday night. Her mature voice is that of a trained vocalist, and although she mentioned that she was nervous, this was not evident when the star did her thing in front of a full house. Pubgoers had their eyes fixed on Lara during her entire performance.
Her appeal to young and old was clearly visible as fans aged 15 to 55 attended her show. Every round of loud applause was evidence that she had swept everyone off their feet. Her enthusiasm was infectious when she performed “Skydive”, which features on 5FM frequently. “I’m very excited about this, you guys!” she exclaimed before rocking away.
“Skydive” is one of the tracks on her first album, Illuminate which was produced by Richard Brokensha and released in 2014. The audience was in for a big surprise when the band was joined by Lara’s fellow Casterbridge Music Development Academy alumni, Jeniffer Rodriguez. The band accompanied the two, who performed a beautiful version of Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball”.
Lara’s impeccable voice control and wide range were put on display when she performed “Wild Side”. Not only is the Lara Gear Band a musical extravaganza, but the group also puts on a rock show of note!
