Business summit for the youth a success

"If you don't want to take risks to start your own business, then you are in the wrong field. You can follow another career path. Never wait for tenders, hustle for a business opportunity and you will see your dreams prosper," Molapo said.

MANGABANE – Youth from all corners of Tubatse descended to the local community hall to receive business advice and learn how to start their own enterprises.

They were visited by government and private-sector organisations which informed them of ways to conduct successful businesses. Those which attended included the National Youth Development Agency, Limpopo Economic Development Agency and Sagewise. Also in attendance was the local councillors and Magoshi.

Mr Nathaniel Molapo of Sagewise told the crowd that they needed to focus on entrepreneurship and not “tender-preneuring”.

“If you don’t want to take risks to start your own business, then you are in the wrong field. You can follow another career path. Never wait for tenders, hustle for a business opportunity and you will see your dreams prosper,” Molapo said.

“Identify opportunities in your area that you can use to start your own businesses, then draft a business plan. Don’t be in a hurry to make a lot of profit, it’s always a challenge to start a business.”

Mmagoshi Hunadi Phasha, who is also a businesswoman, urged women to focus on business and stop relying on men to do the work.
