Pumas braai for a good cause

Slipper Day is one of Reach For A Dream’s biggest fundraisers and allows the foundation to raise a substantial amount for dreams and projects.

MBOMBELA – The Steval Pumas held a benefit braai day to raise funds for the Reach For A Dream Foundation’s Slipper Day at Crossing SUPERSPAR on Thursday.

The first people who bought the wors roll sold at R15 each were also given free tickets to the club’s Friday’s game against Cell C Sharks at the Mbombela Stadium.

Slipper Day is one of Reach For A Dream’s biggest fundraisers and allows the foundation to raise a substantial amount for dreams and projects.

The initiative creates awareness for the foundation, whilst raising funds to make more dreams a reality for children fighting life-threatening illnesses.

According to Kathleen Bailie from Steval Pumas, the club has an interest in giving to the community. “We thought that we should at least partake in this initiative. Our involvement will make a difference in someone’s life,” she said.

She also said that it was very important for people to participate in charity work because through that they can impact their communities positively.

“We will sell as much rolls as we can. Even if it means that we involve ourselves in future, we will do that,” she said. The players also mingled with their supporters at the shopping complex.
