Illegal parking by trucks causes issues

This has become a huge problem, to the extent that fines and warnings do not stop these illegal actions.

MALALANE – Illegal parking has become a common sight in town over the past couple of years. Complaints of these unlawful movements have been brought to the attention of the necessary departments but not much has been done to stop this from happening.

The movement of 16-wheeled transporting vehicles are not limited as many residents around Nkomazi have witnessed.

Heavy-loaded trucks are free to roam in residential areas and on town roads that

are not wide enough nor manufactured for such use.

Spokesman for the Nkomazi Municipality, Mr Cyril Ripinga has said this has become a huge problem, to the extent that fines and warnings do not stop these illegal actions. “We are looking at alternatives on how to keep these vehicles out of the town areas,” explained Ripinga.

These trucks cause damage and open a door to many dangers. Impala Street is overrun with them parked on sidewalks and in front of businesses. According to him, the matter is under discussion and they are considering all options and solutions.
