Suspects sought for double murder

Police are looking for information that could lead to the arrest of suspect(s) responsible for the murder of two pensioners.

NELSPRUIT –  Anna Honyeni (75) and Petasi Madlazi (82) were found dead in their house at Mkhuhlu Township yesterday,  September 10. Their neighbour went to check on them as it had been several days since they were last seen. When she arrived at the pensioners’ house, she was shocked to see blood on their doorstep and she alerted the police.

When police arrived, they discovered that the pensioners had multiple stab wounds on their bodies.

“This incident is shocking. It is regrettable that someone would attack and kill an old helpless citizen. Such acts make us realise that there are individuals who are heartless and have no respect for human life. We condemn this senseless and horrifying killing and I request the public to rally behind the investigators in catching those responsible,” said the Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thulani Ntobela.
