Betty’s Haven gets an X-treme Makeover

A project which was recently undertaken has made people realise that there are certain individuals in the community who have confirmed that caring and kindness in humanity still exists.

NELSPRUIT – This was when the unveiling of the new and improved Betty’s Haven orphanage home occurred after a lot of hard work and effort went into the project. Sponsors and fund-raisers, helpers and children, all gathered together to celebrate the finished refurbished house last Friday.

The children sang and danced for all who attended as the guests were astounded at the revamped state-of-the-art rooms and bedrooms. The kids even now have a walk-in closet that has each of their names on to keep their clothes separate.

The boys have a new blue room, while the girls have a pink room and the older girls a purple one.

Communio church member Wendy Janse van Vuuren and Charlotte Heymans were just two ladies who steered the organizing of the huge project which was a joint effort by many caring individuals and companies who got together to re-do the house and pulled the project off brilliantly. The sponsors who helped the ladies achieve this objective were from some of the teachers and parents of Educare and Barney and Friends, Playpen. Who also played vital roles in getting the project onto its feet were Beds Forever, Prominent paints and Game. The Nelspruit branch of Marsh built the roof for the new walk-in closet and donated a freezer.

Bridget Ndlovo, paid for all the new mattresses for the children and Beds Forever gave her a great price on the deal. These are to name a few that helped in this project.
