Running gets coloured in

The Colour Run recenlty held in Nelspruit literally painted the city in rainbow colours!

We use it to express ourselves all the time and a dash of colour in the right
place can brighten your day and make you happy.
Running has a similar effect. Ask people why they run and they’ll say it produces happy endorphins, improved health, self-esteem, not to mention the wonderful people you meet.

The Nelspruit Colour Run plans to combine these two components in a celebration of health and happiness on Saturday October 12.
Run/Walk for Life will host a unique fund-raising event for GRIP. This should capture the attention of the public to raise awareness in our community and assist the organisation with much-needed funds to continue the great work done by staff and volunteers.
Nelspruit’s first colour run is an event that will appeal to the entire community, while promoting an active and healthy lifestyle.
What makes the it totally different, is that participants line up at the start
wearing white and then get blasted with brightly coloured powder at five zones
along the route (yellow, green, red, blue and orange).
As they pass through, they are bombarded with an explosion of colour to make sure that when they finish, they are as bright and beautiful as possible.
This concept has spread like wildfire all over South Africa because it’s a idea that appeals to everyone – walkers who participate for fun, runners and fitness fanatics add variety to their routine, and even Comrades runners have an opportunity to leave their watches at home for once and just run for fun.
It’s a great family event and can also be a fun team building for companies.
There will be fun for the whole family with prizes, giveaways and all finishers will receive free entry to the Mafunyane Water Park.
“We hope to encourage families to take time out to enjoy the day with us. Mafunyane has braai facilities available and cooler boxes are also welcome,” says Tracey Creswell, manager of Run/Walk for Life.
The Nelspruit GRIP is a charitable organisation that provides confidential and comprehensive trauma counselling along with practical assistance and support for victims of assault and domestic violence.
Entry is R80 for adults and R70 for pupils. Pre-entries only on www.entrytime.co.za at The Riverside Mall/Crossing Spar/Run/Walk for Life Nelspruit.
