Man commits suicide after killing wife

MECKLENBERG – A man allegedly shot and killed himself moments after he gunned down his own wife in their family car.

This is according to Const Mmatlou Elias Setati of the Mecklenburg police, who told Steelburger/Lydenburg News that “it seems that a man shot himself after killing his wife”.

Based on the investigation conducted by the local police, it will appear as if Mr Mabiletja Mogase Victor had an argument with his wife. According to the police report he shot her and then turned the gun on himself and took his own life.

“Upon the arrival of the police at the scene they found the couple in the car. Victor had the gun in his hands with blood in his mouth indicating that he had shot himself. Victor’s wife had blood stains all over her body,” said Setati.

According to him the incident took place at Ga Phala village next to Moshira on October 5 around 20:00.

“Mecklenburg police are trying to find the motive for the incident.

“As the police we encourage the people to consult relevant stakeholders, such as the social workers, if they have the problems to avoid such sad results,” exclaimed Setati.
