Racked up old Ford smash into outside toilet

The driver and Gerald were arrested and Gerald was released the next day. According to a SAPS officer, the driver was charged for driving without a license and for damages.

BARBERTON – On November 3 a car accident took place at Extension 14 at approximately 16:15.

The old Ford was being driven by an acquaintance of Gerald Mkize, whom was driving Gerald home as he was feeling dizzy and not well enough to drive himself.

According to Gerald, the driver was driving at a very high speed and he had asked him several times to slow down. He ignored Gerald’s plea and as they were driving down the main road towards the Correctional Service prison, when approaching a bend in the road, the car swerved to the right and turned over several times. This resulted in the Ford taking down the neighbours fence and hedge before crashing into the outside toilet of Florence Ntimane.

A witness whom was just a few meters away from where the accident had happened said “The vehicle was defiantly driving at a high speed and as it was approaching the curve an oncoming vehicle stopped just before the old ford swerved to the right avoiding a collusion with the car. That’s when it took my fence down and the hedge that separates my house and Florence’s house.”

Ntimane was not happy with the way the SAPS had handled the matter, as she was expecting to be notified by them if she needed to sign any dockets.

The driver and Gerald were arrested and Gerald was released the next day. According to a SAPS officer, the driver was charged for driving without a license and for damages.

He has since appeared in court, but could not be reached for comment.
