Lowveld Sages Senior Golf Day

Piet Burger was the winner of the Lowveld Sages Senior Golf day which was hosted at Kruger Park Lodge on Thursday, October 17. A total of 56 Sage members flocked together from the Mpumalanga region to participate in this well know tournament for men older than 50.
The Senior Association of Golf Enthusiasts (SAGE) is a group of senior (50+) golfers who have joined together to plan and participate in a fun series of golf tournament events. The members play golf at the best courses. Events are usually on the 3rd Thursday of the month.
After nine holes of golf it was time for prize giving which was presented by George du Toit, chairman Lowveld Sages Senior Golf. A lucky draw of KWV Whiskey was sponsored by Pam Golding and was awarded to Koot van der Heffer. The remaining prizes were sponsored by by Hazyview Cold storage and the Hazyview Sage members.
The day ended with ‘n scrumptious braai from Rapid Restaurant. Pieter j van Vuuren, Lappies Labuschagne, Fanie Bam en Eugene Minnaar all members of Sage Hazyview made sure that the tournament wasn’t forgotten.

1st – Piet Burger with 40 points
2nd-Charles Gilfilam with 39 points
Jakes Labuschagne with 39 points
3rd- Piet Breedt with 38 points
Cobus Beetge with 38 points
4th-Pieter J van Vuuren with 37 points
Eugene Minnaar with 37 points
Closes to peg went to Piet Burger and Barry Manicom,
The longest driver over 70 went to Eddie Fraser and under 70 to Piet Burger.
Quantity golfer was Harry Coetzer with 17.
