Players enjoy fun on the tees for a good cause

Charity golf event

Manthano Christian School hosted their 5th annual golf day on Friday, November 1, at Matumi Golf course, Nelspruit. A total of R19 538 was raised for the upgrading of the school’s playground and for Hospice White River.

The day was a big success with 80 players taking up their clubs. There were three fun holes in which players had to chip with a hinged club, play with the wrong hand and try to get the ball into a bucket with small opening, where more wonderful prizes were up for grabs. A “traffic officer” was also on duty and fined players for amongst others “playing like a girl”, “failing to offer a bribe”, “driving recklessly” etc., which added an additional amount of R650-00 to the day’s funds.

We wish to thank all our sponsors who included among others Makro, Spar Lowveld, Couch House Hotel & StayEasy. The overall first prize winners were André Hatting Clayton Schmidt Thinus Neethling and Braam Haasbroek.
