
On Saturday morning November 23, Mrs Retha Visser of Loerie Farm noticed two suspicious men walking in the orchards on the farm. She asked them why they were there. Visser received no response from the men. She then fired warning shorts and they ran away.
According to sources, 20 to 30 farmers responded to the incident after it was broadcast on the farmers radio network. Their attempts to track the two men were unsuccessful.
This follows an incident where robbers attempted to gain access to a chalet at Loerie Guest Farm on Friday, November22. At the time of the incident, the chalet was occupied by two Hungarian tourists.
