BREAKING: Hitch-hiker drugged, robbed and left for dead
The man was allegedly drugged to the extent that he could not recall his name, could not walk or control his breathing.

MALALANE – Yesterday afternoon a local security company was called out to assist a man that was found next to the Jeppe’s reef/Strydomsblok road.
The man was allegedly drugged to the extent that he could not recall his name, could not walk or control his breathing.
According to the security men who wish to remain anonymous, they contacted emergency medical services and moved the victim into a shaded area to protect him from the sun.
They said, “We were called out to the scene and found this disoriented man next to the road. Apparently what these men do is offer hikers lifts, then drug them by offering them something to drink, then rob the hiker of all possessions and discard of them by throwing the victim out of the moving vehicle.”
The men added that the ambulance services took more than two hours before they arrived on the scene.
“This is not the first incident, SAP officers explained to us that one incident turned ugly as they took the victim to the police station because the ambulance services never arrived.
The victim then slipped out of the station and was hit by a vehicle near One Tree Hill, where he past away. The officers prefer to remain anonymous but stressed the issue regarding the lack of emergency services.” said the security men.
Col Leonard Hlati, provincial spokesman for SAPS, did not have any additional information before the publication of this story. He has said however that he would follow up on this incident and inform the publication.
