Complaints about trucks opposite TwinCIty

Trucks on shopping complex ground is a cause for concern

Numerous complaints have been received about the transport trucks which park in the open ground opposite TwinCity. This area is owned by TwinCity and a shopping development has been approved for this site.

Hazyview residents have increasingly concerned become by the number of trucks which regularly park there. The number of large transportation vehicles utilising this area has increased in number and continues to do so on what appears to be a daily basis. Community members worried about the danger this situation poses to traffic when the trucks enter and exit the area, the growing garbage problem due to t truck drivers dropping rubbish on the ground and the undesirable elements which are drawn to this site.

Hazyview Herald spoke to Freek Snetler, manager Twincity, and asked him to comment on the dilemma. “The ground is owned by TwinCity,” says Snetler. “We did explore the option of erecting a fence to enclose this area until the development begins. However, the astronomical costs which would be incurred for an interim solution was prohibitive. We have been informed that the development will begin during February 2014 which will solve the problem. The municipality is presently responsible for the security needs of the site.”

Hazyview Herald will follow up on the progress of the start of the development and update our readers.
