Mbombela moved to action on water shortage

Mbombela’s water and sanitation department is now addressing the ongoing water shortages being expereienced in White River. Louis Sibuyi, senior water engineer technician, released the following statement to the media;

“The water shortages in White River is due to the malfunctioning of pumps at Phumlani pump station,” said Sibuyi. “The community of Phumlani connected electricity illegally to the pump station’s transformer. This caused the pumps to keep tripping. Security personnel is being organised to escort the maintenance team to Phumlani to disconnect these illegal connections. Residents are advised to use water sparingly.”
