NELSPRUIT – A young woman was dragged by a moving vehicle when she desperately clung onto it after one of the occupants had stolen her laptop on Friday afternoon. She sustained only minor injuries. According to the woman, who wishes to remain anonymous as she fears she might have been followed and personally targeted, she was dropped off at home by a colleague at about 17:15 when a Polo Vivo with a Gauteng number plate approached her.
“I was getting my laptop and grocery bags from the boot when an unknown man approached me and started talking to me.” He enquired about someone else who lives in the same complex in Koraalboom Street and she assisted him. He then grabbed her laptop and ran to the Polo. The girl chased after him and grabbed onto the vehicle as
it was driving off. She was dragged down the road for several metres. “They started hitting my hands and sped off. I then decided to rather let go in fear of my own life,” she said. The neighbours were alerted by her screams and chased
after the car, but to no avail. Mr Jacques Meiring of Bossie’s Community Justice responded to the scene. No arrests have been made yet.
