A pothole full of comments from Barberton, Ohio to Barberton, RSA

Nearly a year ago, Barberton Times made contact with Cheryl Vespoint, publisher of The Barberton Herald in Ohio, after keeping a curious eye on this newspaper for quite a while.

To our amazement, we were told that they have been doing the same on their side of the world for quite some time. It was then decided that sometime in the future, we would run an editorial on both papers in our separate publications, as it would prove a very interesting read indeed.

What we found highly fascinating were the numerous similarities regarding issues in both towns of Barberton. To date we have not had the time to finish these intended editorials, but would like to share something with our readers which we found so similar to our town, that it is not only thought-provoking and ironic, but downright weird. An editorial that was written about the issue of potholes not being fixed, and the perpetual lack of municipal funds could just as well have been taken from Barberton, RSA.

However, the comments on their Facebook are what we would really like to share with you today.

It might as well have been written by one of our very own readers, as you will see in the accompanying screenshot. In fact, if we didn’t know any better, we would have thought as much.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
