Accused appear in court over looting of foreign shops

Nineteen people are accused of inciting public violence during a looting rampage against foreign-owned shops in Pienaar last month.

NELSPRUIT – The 19 people accused of inciting public violence during a looting rampage in Pienaar last month, reappeared in the Kabokweni Magistrate’s Court this morning.

They are accused of looting foreign-owned shops after the funeral of a schoolboy allegedly killed by a foreign national on March 30. Today, the court case was postponed for further investigation. The accused are due back in court on June 3.
