LYDENBURG – The 2014 South African general election kicked off in Lydenburg where special votes is casted from yesterday and already attracted various prominent figures.

A member of the Provincial Legislature, Mr David Dube, made his cross today, not ashamed to show off where his loyalty lay. Arriving at the voting station in a white car, draped with ANC flags, Dube entered the station by saying “my vote is not a secret – I vote for the ANC.”

“Today I exercise my right as a proudly South African citizen and by voting, help to assure we move forward in a way to unite the country. By doing this, I help strengthen democracy”.

He encouraged all citizens who have registered to cast their votes tomorrow and urged those who haven’t to register for the upcoming municipal elections.
