LYDENBURG – Owners of Paardeplaats Nature Reserve just outside town, Brian and Gerda Whitehorn also brought one of their workers to make sure that he will be casting his vote for the fourth time in Lydenburg.

According to Gerda, Lucas is very passionate about voting and has been up early to prepare for the big day.

Lucas said that he is voting for a better future for his children, better work opportunities and service delivery.

Some so called born frees (first time voters) were also in the queue to cast their vote for the first time. Driné and Shaun Bouwer and Sauerman Potgieter were quite excited to cast their first vote during this election. “We feel good about voting today. We are voting for a better country.”

Voting queues moved relatively fast and voters felt that the process was running  smooth.
