BCR Bring back our girls campaign

If all goes according to plan, there will be no less than 500 people taking part, which will include learners from different schools.

BCR (Barberton Community Radio) has recently been rallying listeners as well as the overall public and religious leaders in and around Umjindi. This has been done for the station’s BringBackOurGirls campaign.

Currently, many groups and societies around the world are uniting to speak up about the kidnapping of the more than 200 Nigerian children.

With this campaign, the BCR is adding it’s voice.

“We are currently collecting signatures from schools, churches and the public on the matter,” said programmemanager, Mawethu Ngwenya.

On Friday, from 12:30 to 13:30, these pledges will be taken along on a peaceful march to the Barberton Police Station. The meeting point for the march will be at the four-way stop next to Zanini at Emjindini.

If all goes according to plan, there will be no less than 500 people taking part, which will include learners from different schools. These learners will be part of the proceedings for symbolic purposes and the BCR is adamant that the focus will be on nothing else but what the campaign is intended for – to bring the girls back.

“The signatures will be sent to the Nigerian Embassy as part of our support and plea for a speedy resolution of the matter, which will result in the girls being brought back safe,” concluded Ngwenya.
