No arrests yet in Duffey case

The family suspected that one or more of their employees were involved as the suspects had information regarding their farm and possessions that only an inside source would have had access to.

MBOMBELA – Police are still conducting investigations into the robbery and assault of a well-known family, the Duffeys.

Mr Greg and Ms Agnes Duffey had been spending a peaceful evening at home with their son, Allan, when they were assaulted by armed robbers two weeks ago. They endured a three-hour ordeal which left them with burns from a hot iron, Agnes with bruised arms and Allan with a dislocated collarbone.

After they had interrogated the family, the robbers then fled with a white Isuzu double cab, a cellphone and R80 000 cash.

The family suspected that one or more of their employees were involved as the suspects had information regarding their farm and possessions that only an inside source would have had access to.

According to Mbombela SAPS spokesman, Capt Dawie Pretorius, police are following up on any or all leads, however, no suspects had been apprehended yet.
