
BOSFONTEIN – On March 14 one man died and another was admitted to hospital after an alleged armed robbery in the street.
According to Const Nompilo Qwabe, spokesman for the Schoemansdal Police Station, two suspects were apprehended and charged with murder, attempted murder and armed robbery.
They made their first court appearance on March 17, where the community gathered in support of the grieving families.
Chairman of the Bosfontein community police forum Mr Sibusiso Makubule was part of the gathering in front of the court room, saying “We as the community wanted to show our support for the family who had lost a son and the family awaitning the recovery of theirs.”
The trial was postponed to March 28 and transferred to Tonga magistrate court.
Qwabe informed Corridor Gazette that the two suspects, Mr Bongani Ngcane (28) and Mr Caleb Ngomane (29), are currently in custody and will remain so until June 3 for their bail application.
