One of the protestors has been seriously wounded by rubber bullets.

According to Barberton Times‘ journalist on the scene, many others have minor injuries. The group has swelled to approximately 800 protestors.

Police have made some arrests.

The protestors are demanding the presence of one of the MECs or Premier David Mabuza. They say mayor of Umjindi, Cllr Lazaros Mashaba told them yesterday that he can’t help them.
