It is suspected that the recovered goods might be from reported burglaries

LYDENBURG – On June 16, the SAPS of Lydenburg successfully recovered various electrical appliances, including television sets, Hi-Fi’s and other electrical equipment which is suspected to be stolen in Lydenburg, Mashishing and various farming areas.
The SAPS encouraged Lydenburg residents to visit the police station to identify the recovered items. According to the communication officer, Captain Mabokalate Mashabele, it is suspected that the recovered goods might be from reported burglaries.

“The burglary rate was very high and since the recovery of the goods, burglary incidents have dropped noticeably”, he said.

The person/suspect who sold these items or who stole the items is still at large.
“Residents who have lost their properties recently must come and check if their stolen items are not amongst the recovered ones – the providing of serial numbers and full description of the property are required”.
