PRETORIA – A case linked to a local school principal accused of child pornography, led to a conviction. Charles Martin Ashford (58) was sentenced in the Pretoria Regional Court for the unlawful possession of child pornography earlier this week.
He was sentenced to R20 000 suspended for three years and declared unfit to work with any children.
Ashford’s sentencing came as a result of a successful international investigation into a child pornography network which was shut down when raids carried out in Canada in June and July 2013 led to his arrest and seven others by members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) in August 2013.
