Body of 16 year old female found in back seat of car

On Wednesday June 25, a 19-year-old female appeared before the Nkomazi Magistrate’s Court for the alleged murder of her cousin in Naas the day before.

TONGA – On Wednesday June 25, a 19-year-old female appeared before the Nkomazi Magistrate’s Court for the alleged murder of her cousin in Naas the day before.

According to police the suspect was arrested shortly after officials were called by the local clinic where she had rushed the victim for medical attention. Upon arrival, they were directed to the body of a 16-year-old female in the back seat of a vehicle parked outside.

“Police received information about a young girl who had passed on upon arrival at the local clinic on June 24. When officials arrived there, they found the victim dead in a relative’s vehicle,” said Brig Selvy Mohlala.

It was furthermore alleged that an argument over who had to wash dishes led a fight, which resulted in the stabbing of the 16-year-old.

“Information at police’s disposal reveals that the victim and the suspect had an argument that led to the attack,” she explained.

The 19-year-old suspect was remanded in custody and is expected back in court on July 3.
