Doctor to testify in human trafficking trial

Dr Susan Grabe from Pretoria is set to testify in court as she had examined the girls when they were found.

GRASKOP –A doctor is to testify in court today in a  human trafficking trial. High profile businessman Mr Lloyd Mabuza (60) and his accomplice Ms Violet Chauke (20)are appearing on charges of human trafficking of five girls from Mozambique for sexual purposes.

The trial began on Monday but was  held in camera as the last of the  five minor girls was testifying.

Today, Dr Susan Grabe from Pretoria is set to testify in  court as she had examined the girls when they were found.

The girls, aged 10 to 16, were kept captive  at a compound in Rhenosterhoek in Sabie, for four years until one of them escaped and got help in December 2012.

They had  apparently been brought to South Africa under the false pretences of attending school and leading a better life.
