Alleged drug dealer bust in sting operation

MALALANE – Police arrested a Malalane-based drug dealer on Monday night, while he was attempting to deliver CAT.

A Nigerian national, Mr Emeka Chukwa Kgsiome (31), appeared in the Barberton Magistrate’s Court on drug-dealing charges on Tuesday.

He was arrested during a sting operation by the local police and the White River K9 unit.

According to a press release from Malalane police, it is alleged that he was on his way to deliver the drugs to a client in Extension 6 in Malalane.

Police reacted on a tip-off and apprehended Kgsiome en route. He was found in possession of a matchbox containing four small bags filled with CAT.

The bags weighed six grams in total and could sell between R250 to R300 each, which equates to a total value of R1 200.

Police said that Kgsiome lives in Malalane. They could give no information on the recipients of the drug consignment.

Kgasiome was denied bail for police to further investigate and that he could be a flight risk.
