LANGELOOP – A 29-year-old father allegedly raped his four-year-old son while the boy and his eight-year-old brother were visiting him at his home.
According to a press release by Tonga SAPS spokesman Lt Mzwandile Nyambi, the two boys went to visit their father in Langeloop Trust on June 29.
The boys stayed with their father for a few weeks. Upon their return home to their mother on July 19, the older brother told his aunt that his father had raped his sibling during their visit.
The victim was taken for treatment and counselling and the suspect was arrested. He will appear in court on July 28.
Nyambi urged parents to take care of their children and to stop abusing them physically, emotionally – and most importantly – sexually.
He said, “It is your responsibility as parents to ensure the safety of your children and to protect them against such harm.”
