KAMHLUSWA – Matafeni Primary School learners received brand-new school uniforms from an organisation known as Happy Children, social community development group.
Chairman of the organisation Mr Calvin Nsimbini (25) said, “We realised that there was a need in our community and I believe that charity begins at home.
That’s why we established the group and why we are at this school.” They donated 18 full uniforms to learners who were identified as less fortunate, orphaned and disadvantaged.
The principal Mr Moses Mabunda said to Corridor Gazette, “At this school we pride ourselves on our culture. Last year we reached the Durban ICC choir championships where we represented the province, to see people taking an interest in our school makes me happy.
This organisation has made a huge difference to these learners’ lives and has encouraged them to reach new heights.”
Nsimbini spoke to the learners and encouraged them to believe in themselves and study hard, to set goals and dream about their future.
