The 29-year-old father accused of raping his four-year-old son will appear in court again on September 19.

TONGA – The 29-year-old father accused of raping his four-year-old son will appear in court again on September 19.

He was granted R500 bail in August. The suspect was arrested in July on a charge of rape. It is alleged that his two sons, one eight and the other four years old, were visiting him in Langeloop for a period of a month.

Upon their return home to their mother, the eight-year-old told his aunt that their father had raped his brother during their stay.

According to spokesman for the local SAPS, Lt Mzwandile Nyambi, the victim was taken for treatment and counselling. A case of rape was opened and the suspect was arrested.

“We urge all parents to take care of their children and to stop abusing them physically, emotionally and most importantly, sexually. It is your responsibility to ensure the safety of your children and to protect them at all cost,” said Nyambi.
