Video: Horrific footage of man abusing a goat

He later grabs the goat at the back of its neck and continues to hit it on the head. All of this continues while the animal is screaming frantically

MBOMBELA – A horrific, highly upsetting video of animal abuse has surfaced. Although the origin of the video is unclear, it is suspected that it was filmed somewhere in the Lowveld since the perpetrator speaks siSwati.

Ms Kobie Oberholster of Ntataise Lowveld, an early childhood development organisation, sent the video to Mr Mark Kinnear, deputy editor of Lowveld Media, in the hope that the suspect may be apprehended if the media get involved.

Video: Not for sensitive viewers

It can be seen on the video how a man carries a goat by its legs. He sits on the ground and holds the animal between his legs. He then proceeds to slap the goat through its face and hits it on the head. The man asks the goat what it was doing on his property and said that he was going to hit it.

He later grabs the goat at the back of its neck and continues to hit it on the head. All of this continues while the animal is screaming frantically.

The perpetrator also hits the goat on its sex organs. As if he’s a WWF wrestler, the man also picks up the goat and slams it back onto the ground before holding it down again with one leg.

He then stands up, picks up the goat and throws it hard on the ground before kicking it. The animal got up and walked away. This is where the video ends.

Lowveld Media sent the video to Lowveld SPCA. Ms Shan Paton, trainee inspector, was disgusted. “There must be some way for us to trace the origin of this video. I will be sending the video to our head office as well so that its technical gurus can try and trace the person who made the recording,” she said.

Ms Petronel Nieuwoudt, founder of Care of Wild Africa wildlife rehabilitation centre, saw the video and said she was shocked out of her mind.

“I hope this person and all the people in the background laughing will burn in hell. This is brutal. No wonder there are so many animals in distress. Arrest him and throw the key away.”
