Local lady pleads with motorists to abide by road rules
“The man scratched my car and when I asked why he did that, he yelled at me and did not even show remorse. I would have forgiven him and moved on, had he admitted his mistake,” she said.
BURGERSFORT- A local motorist complained that driving in town is a nightmare.
Susan Miller (60) told Steelburger/Lydenburg News that her grandson was almost ran over by a male driver of a white bakkie on Wednesday September 23.
She alleged that the man bumped into her Kia Sportage scratching it in the process.
“The man scratched my car and when I asked why he did that, he yelled at me and did not even show remorse. I would have forgiven him and moved on, had he admitted his mistake,” she said.
Miller added that she went to the local SAPS to report the incident and was told that they would not be able to trace the vehicle. “The police officer added that they would not investigate the incident as no one was injured and I needed to report the incident to my lawyers,” Miller said.
Miller pleaded with locals to drive responsibly and not to endanger other motorists’ and pedestrian’s lives. The paper did not get comment from the spokesman for Burgersfort SAPS Const Victoria Maluleka before going to print.
