According to wo Gugu Phiri of the White River Police Station, the Methodist Church, NG Church and Turning Point have all been robbed. A sound system was reportedly stolen from the Methodist Church, while the NG Church’s flatscreen television was neatly removed from the vestry and silverware was stolen from the Ou Apostoliese Kerk.
Several vehicles have also been broken into during the early hours of the morning in residential areas. Residents should remember to always lock their vehicles and, if possible, park them inside a garage or in their fenced properties.
The White River CPF urges residents to activate their alarms, especially when returning home after work and during the night. The White River SAPS says residents need to be more vigilant and report suspicious activities in their neighbourhood or around businesses. The station can be contacted on 013-750-0888.
