Community urged to help police in murder investigation

Police are searching for any information that may lead to the arrest of the perpetrators and urge community members to contact the investigating officer with tip-offs.

Following the murder of Dr Rensia de Wet, a well-known veterinarian in equestrian circles, on Tuesday, police are requesting the public to come forward with any information that may help them in their investigation.

De Wet (46), who lived on Nottinghill Equestrian Estate in Yaverland, was found half-naked in a pool of blood in her bedroom by neighbours at around 12:00. It was established that she had multiple stab wounds and it is suspected that she had been raped, although this has not been confirmed by SAPS.

According to White River SAPS spokesperson WO Gugu Phiri, the house was ransacked and De Wet’s cellphone is missing.

Anyone with information is urged to contact WO Hendrik Grobler on 082-455-6591.
