Hospital suspends CEO

The reasons for Dr Corné Ackermann's recent suspension in not clear.

MBOMBELA – Just more than two months after Kiaat Private Hospital opened its doors to the public, its CEO has been suspended. Dr Corné Ackermann was suspended about two weeks ago.

She was formerly the CEO of Rob Ferreira Hospital from where she was also removed by former HOD Mr Richard Mnisi before joining the private sector earlier this year. The reasons for her recent suspension in not clear.

Kiaat Private Hospital opened its doors to the public on October 3. It was developed and is being managed by Nozala Health Partners (NHP), a joint venture between health-care company Health Partners and Nozala Investments. The CEO of NHP, Mr Tony Lundin declined to comment. He said that if Lowvelder wouldn’t tell him where the information had come from, he wouldn’t make any comment. Later he said he couldn’t comment as “it is an internal matter”.

Ackermann wouldn’t comment either and referred the matter back to Lundin.
