More traffic but fewer fatalities on toll route

Despite increased volumes of traffic passing through the town along the N4 route, fewer accidents and fatalities have been reported by TRAC N4.

MALALANE – Despite increased volumes of traffic passing through the town along the N4 route, fewer accidents and fatalities have been reported by TRAC N4.

With over 703 vehicles passing through the Nkomazi Toll Plaza on January 4, the road was flooded with those which were overloaded and unroadworthy.

So far this year there has only been a single fatality reported along the stretch of road. On more than one occasion, TRAC reported on social media that there were no incidents on the N4 route.

Over the past weekends, high volumes of traffic entering town westbound have been reported, and TRAC advised motorists to plan their trips in advance.

Motorists also have to endure the temporary stop/go through the Crocodile Gorge, which lasts no longer than 20 minutes.
