Breaking news: No power due to sub-station blow-out
It is not certain how long the power will be off in certain areas of town.

LYDENBURG – A transformer at one of the substations in town has just blown.
Barko Developments were apparently busy cleaning the area around the transformer when cables got caught by one of the TLBs.
This caused the cables to cross and subsequently led to the substation blowing up. “It was an honest mistake. The company is already fixing the station,” explained Mr Deon Broekman of Rapid Response.
Broekman was called out to the scene right after it happened to extinguish the fire using a fire retardant.
It is not certain how long the power will be off in certain areas of town. The substation is situated on the corner of Voortrekker and Breytenbach streets.
