Testimony of brutal assault in today’s Circuit High Court murder trial

The victim was allegedly assaulted by the five accused. His right testicle was removed by means of blunt trauma. Mr Lucky Mondlane died as a result of his injuries.

MBOMBELA – Five suspects in a murder case appeared in the Mbombela Circuit of the eastern division of the Gauteng High Court today.
Messrs Micheal Mamuepa (28), Hlanganani Philbert Gama (29), Bongani Cyprain Hlatswayo (25), Johnny Terence Themba (29) and Sibusiso Charles Vilikazi (21) stand accused of killing Mr Lucky Mondlane on January 22, 2013. Blunt trauma to various parts of his body and the removal of his right testicle preceded his death.

Lucky had allegedly been assaulted and, according to the testimony delivered in court today, his testicle was removed by means of blunt trauma. A laceration was also visible on his scrotum, according to the post-mortem.
According to the testimony of Mr Themba Mondlane, Lucky’s brother, the police confirmed his death at 20:30 that day. He reportedly died as a result of the injuries sustained during the assault.  The five suspects were arrested soon after.
