Foreigners shops looted, vandalised and emptied in Steelpoort

Thousands of soft drinks, mixed portions and bags of maize meal were seen scattered all over the streets as locals helped themselves with what looked like free meals.

STEELPOORT- More than 20 shops owned by foreigners were looted by violent protesters in Tukakgomo, Ga Mampuru and Ga Phasha villages on Monday March 3.

Thousands of soft drinks, mixed portions and bags of maize meal were seen scattered all over the streets as locals helped themselves with what looked like free meals.

Some drinks were only opened and sipped once while bags of mealie meal were simply destroyed with okapi knifes.

Limpopo police sent more officers to the three villages, after they protested blocking the roads and burnt several vehicles demanding tarred roads in their villages. For this article and more grab a copy of Steelburger News this Friday.
